No, the slaughter festival in Islam, known as Eid al-Adha, is not originally a pagan cult. It is a religious festival that commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. However, the practice of animal sacrifice during this festival does have roots in pre-Islamic Arabian culture, where it was a common ritual. When Islam emerged, it incorporated and transformed many pre-existing cultural practices, including the tradition of animal sacrifice, into a religious context. Therefore, while the practice of animal sacrifice may have pre-Islamic origins, the festival itself is a significant religious observance in Islam. **

The festival prayer in Islam, known as Bayram prayer, is performed in congregation at a mosque or an open prayer ground. It consists of two units (rakats) of prayer, with additional Takbirs (saying "Allahu Akbar") before the prayer begins. The prayer starts with the Imam saying the Takbir seven times, followed by the congregation repeating after him. After the prayer, a sermon (khutbah) is delivered by the Imam, emphasizing the significance of the festival and reminding worshippers of their duties as Muslims. **
